"Complete payment" and "Pay outstanding invoice" messages

What the pending payment, failed payment and no payment method states mean.

If your dashboard shows one of these notices, your subscription exists but something about the payment is unresolved. Nothing has been deleted, and in every case it's fixed from the same place.

The three messages

MessageWhat happenedWhat to do
"Complete payment"The payment was left half-finished, usually because bank confirmation was missingTry again and complete the verification
"Pay outstanding invoice"There's an unpaid invoice. The charge was declinedPay the invoice or change your card
"Add payment method"No card is registeredRegister a card

How to resolve them

In all three cases, the path is the same:

  1. Click the button in the notice, or go to "Settings" → "Billing" → "Manage billing".
  2. The Stripe portal opens.
  3. Pay the outstanding invoice or register another card.
  4. Return to the dashboard: your menu reactivates as soon as the payment confirms.

Why a card gets declined

The most common causes, in order:

  • Your bank blocks international purchases. This is the number one cause in Latin America. Delimenu charges in US dollars through Stripe, and many banks block that by default.
  • Verification wasn't completed. Your bank sends a code or an in-app notification, and if you don't confirm it in time, the charge fails.
  • Insufficient funds at the moment of the charge.
  • Expired card or mistyped details.
  • Debit card not enabled for online purchases.

What to tell your bank

Call or message through their app and ask them to enable international online purchases in US dollars for your card. Many banks activate this authorisation instantly.

Tip: if you're in a hurry, the fastest fix is almost always to use another card, ideally from a different bank. You can sort out the main one afterwards.

While it's unresolved

Your menu may show as unavailable to diners, the same as when a trial expires. Nothing is deleted, and everything returns with the same link and the same QR code as soon as the payment goes through.
