Turn on WhatsApp ordering

Set up your number and receive orders as a message — no commissions, no middlemen.

With WhatsApp ordering on, your menu stops being just a menu: the customer builds their order and sends it to you as a chat message, already written and itemised.

No commissions and no middlemen. The order is a direct conversation between you and your customer.

How to turn it on

  1. Open your restaurant and click "Settings".
  2. On the restaurant card, check the Phone / WhatsApp field.
  3. Turn on the "Receive orders on WhatsApp" switch.
  4. Click "Save changes".

With the switch on you'll see "Adds a button to your menu so your customers can send you their order by chat." Off, it says "Your customers will be able to see the menu, but not send you orders."

Important: orders go to the number you save here, so it must have WhatsApp active. Regular WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business both work. A landline without WhatsApp will receive nothing.

How it works for your customer

  1. They open your menu and add products to the cart, choosing variants where there are any.
  2. They open the cart and check the total.
  3. At checkout they enter their Name and Phone.
  4. They confirm the order.
  5. WhatsApp opens with the message already written, addressed to your number — and they press send.

What reaches you

A message with the complete, itemised order:

  • Customer's name and phone number
  • Each product, with its quantity
  • The variants and add-ons chosen
  • Any comments they wrote
  • The total

What Delimenu doesn't do

  • It doesn't charge the customer. There's no online payment; you take payment as you always have.
  • It doesn't handle delivery or couriers.
  • It doesn't take a commission per order.

Good practice

  • Use WhatsApp Business: it lets you add a catalogue, opening hours and quick replies.
  • Set an away message with your hours, so nobody is left waiting at 2am.
  • Assign one person responsible for watching the chat during rush hours. The most common failure isn't technical — it's that nobody is looking at the phone.

FAQ

Can I change the number later? Yes, from Settings. Your link and your QR code don't change.

What if I'd rather not take orders? Turn the switch off. Your menu keeps working as a read-only digital menu, which is a perfectly valid use.

Can I use a number from another country? Yes. The field validates the number against the country you select.
