Create your restaurant and choose your link
Name, public link, phone number, and whether you want to receive WhatsApp orders.
Creating your restaurant is the first real step inside Delimenu, and it defines your public link for good.
Important: your 7-day free trial starts right now, not when you finish loading your menu. Have your restaurant name, your WhatsApp number and — if you plan to import your menu — the photo or PDF ready.
The fields
| Field | Required | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Restaurant name | Yes | 50 characters |
| Unique identifier | Yes | 50 characters |
| Phone / WhatsApp | Yes | Validated by country |
| Currency | Yes | Suggested from your country; every menu price is in it |
| Address | No | 65 characters (only when editing) |
| Logo | No | PNG or JPEG (only when editing) |
| Banner | No | PNG or JPEG (only when editing) |
The currency
Every price on your menu is shown in the currency you pick here: $ 12.000 in Colombian pesos, $5.99 in dollars, 12,50 € in euros. It is suggested from the country you create the restaurant from, and you can change it later in Settings.
Changing it does not convert the prices: the numbers stay as they are and only the symbol and the decimals follow. If you picked the wrong currency, change it before loading the products.
The identifier: your public link
The identifier is the last part of your address: delimenu.co/your-identifier. It's what you share, what people see, and what your QR code points to.
Rules:
- Lowercase letters, numbers, dot (
.), hyphen (-) and underscore (_) only. - It can't start or end with a symbol.
- It can't contain two symbols in a row.
- It can't end in
.js,.jsonor.css.
Reserved identifiers you can't use, because they're internal Delimenu addresses:
api, auth-callback, backoffice, blog, contact, cookies, dashboard, de, developers, en, es, favicon.ico, fr, help, it, llms.txt, login, manifest.json, privacy, pt, qr, robots.txt, signup, sitemap.xml, support, terms
If it says "This identifier is already in use."
Someone took it first. Try variants that are still easy to read out over the phone:
- Add the city or location:
larosa-chapinero - Add the business type:
larosa-pizzeria - Drop the separators:
larosabogota
Tip: pick something short and easy to say out loud. You'll be dictating it over the phone and putting it in your Instagram bio.
Receiving WhatsApp orders
The "Receive orders on WhatsApp" switch defines how your menu works:
- On: a button appears so customers can send you their order by chat.
- Off: customers can see the menu but can't send orders. It's a read-only digital menu, and that's a perfectly valid use.
Orders go to the number you enter, so it must have WhatsApp active.
After creating it
You'll see a confirmation screen with a link to "Settings", where you can already upload your logo and banner and customise your colors.
