Organize your menu into categories

Create, rename, reorder and delete categories, and change the order of products.

Categories are the sections of your menu: Starters, Mains, Drinks, Desserts. Every product lives in one, and the order you set here is exactly what your customer sees.

Creating a category

  1. Go to the "Menu" section.
  2. Click "Add category".
  3. Type the Category name (50 characters maximum).
  4. Click "Create".

Two categories can't share a name: if you repeat one, you'll see "You already have a category with this name".

You can also create a category without leaving a product form, using the "New category" button.

Renaming or deleting

Each category has a gear icon with three options:

OptionWhat it does
RenameEdits the name. Products don't move
Sort productsChanges the order within that category (needs at least 2 products)
DeleteRemoves the category

Important: you can't delete a category that still has products. First move them to another category (by editing each product and changing its Category field) or delete them.

Changing the order

  • Category order: click "Sort" in the top bar. It appears once you have at least 2 categories.
  • Product order within a category: category gear icon → "Sort products".

In both cases you drag items into position and click "Save". It also works with the keyboard if you'd rather not drag.

Tip: put what you want to sell first. Highlights and promos at the top, drinks and add-ons at the end. On a digital menu, what's seen first is what gets ordered most.

What doesn't show on the public menu

A category with no visible products is skipped automatically. If you created "Desserts" but all its products are Hidden, your customer won't see an empty section.

FAQ

Is there a category limit? No, they're unlimited on every plan.

Can I move several products to another category at once? Not yet. You need to edit each product and change its Category field.

I changed the order and don't see it on my menu. Make sure you clicked "Save" in the sort dialog, then reload the public menu.
