Logo, banner and photos: sizes and formats
Which files Delimenu accepts and how to prepare your images.
Summary
| Image | Where it shows | Saved at | Formats |
|---|---|---|---|
| Logo | Your menu header | 512 × 512 px | PNG or JPEG |
| Banner | Your menu header | 1080 × 1080 px | PNG or JPEG |
| Product photo | Product card and detail view | 1080 × 1080 px | PNG or JPEG |
One photo per product. The logo and banner are uploaded from Settings → Restaurant; product photos, from each product.
Important — the iPhone trap: the logo, banner and product photos accept PNG and JPEG only. The AI importer does accept WEBP and HEIC, but that's a different thing. If your iPhone saves in HEIC, go to Settings → Camera → Formats and choose "Most Compatible", or export the photo as JPG before uploading.
Everything is square
All three images are saved as squares. If you upload a landscape photo, keep the dish centred so the crop doesn't cut an edge off. It's the most common mistake with photos shot in landscape.
Photo tips
- Natural light, near a window. No direct flash.
- Clean, neutral background: a wooden table, a plain tablecloth.
- The same framing on every dish. This is what shows most: a grid where every photo was shot from a different angle looks messy even when each photo is good on its own.
- Top-down for flat dishes, at 45° for burgers and anything with height.
About file size
Your customer opens the menu on their phone, at the table, on mobile data. A 5 MB photo takes time to load and they won't wait.
Export at a reasonable size before uploading. And if your logo or banner is a detailed PNG, consider exporting as JPEG instead — it's considerably lighter.
Products without photos
That's fine: the product shows as normal, just without an image. And sometimes that's the better call.
Tip: better no photo than a bad photo. A well-described dish sells more than a dark, blurry shot taken with a phone flash.
If you're photographing the whole menu, do it in batches and upload your best-sellers first.
FAQ
Can I add several photos to one product? No, one per product.
I uploaded a photo and it doesn't change on the menu. Wait a few seconds for it to finish processing and reload. If you uploaded it from the product form, make sure you saved the product.
Does the banner show in full on a phone? It fits to the screen width. Avoid putting important text near the edges.
