Import your menu with AI

Upload a photo or PDF of your menu and review the products before adding them.

Instead of typing product by product, you can upload a photo or PDF of your menu and let AI detect categories, products and variants. You review and fix everything before anything is saved.

Important: what you import is added to your current menu. It doesn't replace or delete anything you already had.

How to do it

  1. Open your restaurant and go to the "Menu" section.
  2. Click "Import menu".
  3. Drag your file into the upload area or pick it from your computer.
  4. Wait while "Analyzing your menu, this may take a few seconds…" shows.
  5. Review the result (see below).
  6. Click "Import N products".

The same option shows up right after you create the restaurant, as "Import my menu with AI", and on the menu while it is empty. If you skipped it, nothing is lost: the "Import menu" button is always in the Menu section.

The review screen

Before anything is saved, you'll see how many categories and products the AI detected. There you can:

  • Rename a category.
  • Delete a category or a product you don't want.
  • Edit a product: name, description, price and variants.
  • Change the casing of everything detected: as in the file, sentence case or title case. If the menu came in capitals, the review opens in title case. Whatever you edit by hand is left alone.

When a detected category matches one you already have, a "Will be added to «X»" chip appears. That means the products go into your existing category instead of creating a duplicate.

Tip: always check the prices before confirming. They're the most common thing to get wrong when the photo has shadows or the menu uses unusual symbols.

Getting the best result

  • Photograph the menu flat and well lit, with no glare and no angle.
  • If it's a PDF, make sure it has real text, not a scan. A PDF that's just an image inside reads far worse.
  • If your menu is long, split it by section and run several imports. It reads better and avoids the analysis taking too long.
  • One section per file also makes the result easier to review.

After importing

The AI loads the products; you refine them. Worth reviewing:

  • The prices, one by one.
  • The status of each product: everything imports as Available; mark Out of stock, Hidden or On sale where needed.
  • The variants, if your menu had them.
  • The photos, which AI can't extract — those are uploaded by hand.

FAQ

Can I close the window while it's analysing? Yes. You can reload the page or close the panel: when you come back, the result will be there. There's also a "Cancel" button if you'd rather stop it.

How many imports do I have? 5 for the whole free trial, and 10 per month with a subscription. See AI import limits, quotas and errors.

I imported the same file twice and everything is duplicated. Delete the repeated products from the "Menu" section. Nothing prevents importing the same file twice.
